Beware of Scams and Fraudulent Emails

The holidays brings the best and worst in people. Recently Ross Metal Works and a lot of other businesses have been a target of hackers and scammers. We received word that some customers got invoices through their email asking them to pay through a different method than how we are currently set up.
To protect your information, we have changed our passwords and reported the incident to the police. In order to better arm you in identifying the authenticity of the invoice, the following information will educate you on how we bill and collect:
-Payments should only be made to Ross Metal Works at address 1910 Turner Dr. Unit C, Houston TX, 77093. Our phone number is 713-699-9543. When writing out the check and looking at the invoice, double check that the information matches these.
-You are more than welcome to call our office to make a payment which we will process right there and then. The two other options are to send the check through mail or pay in person at the above address. Another option is to pay your deposit during the sales consultation. If you have any doubts, do not hesitate to call us during office hours and we will get everything sorted out for you.
- Your invoice will always have a detailed breakdown of the cost. If you have multiple projects at one location, this is especially important to pay attention to. Make sure to double check that the cost makes sense for your project.
Cybercrime is becoming more and more sophisticated as scammers and hackers get access to better technology. Just because a bill contains a familiar employee name, does not mean it is legitimate. Double checking the details and being vigilant about scam techniques can prevent hackers from stealing your money and information.
